Hello everyone! This Sunday, we went to a nature center for a walk with Georgia, and it was so beautiful with the leaves changing! I hope you all enjoy this vlog!
Hi everyone! Welcome to another vlog! We went to Gail’s Pumpkin Patch here in Central Illinois, and it was Georgia’s first time visiting a pumpkin patch! XOXO, Hope you enjoy!
Georgia turned 8 months on August 29th, and I just cannot believe how fast the time has gone since she was born, and I wanted to share 8 things about her!
We had the best time at McCormick’s Creek this year. I remember last year how I was just dreaming about getting to bring Georgia here fo the first time, and we were so excited to be on our first family vacation with her! She loved playing in the pool, and getting to see everyone everyday! She was splashing, and she LOVED the rubber duckies that my mom brought for her. It was the best soaking up the sun, being in the pool, and we even all had a race- Greg won and Livi was a close second lol.
While we were there we went to a winery. lt was the most beautiful night, and everyone had some wine, a grilled cheese, and we shared charcuterie! We also went to the Hilltop restaurant while we were there which is where the family picture was taken. We’ve been going to the Hilltop for forever, and I just love going there because we all had some fried chicken and mashed potatoes. So it’s some real comfort food with everyone we love!
Greg and I also loved getting to spend 4 full days together, and I love how going on vacation together always makes us feel so connected! One of my favorite parts was sharing a glass of wine together in our hotel room because it immediately reminded me of us being on our honeymoon. We can’t wait for our next trip!
Here is the link to last year’s trip when I was pregnant with Georgia!
Here are our pictures from the 4th of July! We had the best day- we went to the parade by my Bebe’s house with my mom, dad, sister, brother, and my aunts and uncle and cousins, had such a fun lunch at my parent’s house (my mom ordered subs and made a yummy cake and my sister made the prettiest sugar cookies with firework swirls on them), and then, Greg grilled out in the evening at our house after we put Georgia to bed. I love celebrating holidays with family, and it was such a special day for Georgia’s first 4th of July!
She was so cute trying to pull her sunhat off by pulling it down, and the warm weather made her cheeks all rosy. She also loved getting to hold a cold water bottle straight from the fridge. It’s all these little things that I never ever want to forget. Gosh, I love being a mom more than anything in the world!
P.S. I can’t believe it is July 7th, and this is my first blog post of the month. I’m writing it now at 12:53 am because I haven’t been able to fall asleep tonight, and Georgia just woke up so I got up to rock her back to sleep, and I figured I could write my blog post now! Hopefully I will be able to fall asleep after this. 🙂 Also, I think I’m having trouble falling asleep because Georgia starts mommy and me swim lessons tomorrow, and I am just so excited!
Hope you all have a great Monday!
Two weekends ago we went hiking at Starved Rock. We put Georgia in her baby carrier, and she absolutely loved it. She loved being so close to Greg, being out in nature, and getting to look at all the pretty green trees. We hiked about 3 miles, and the day was perfect. There was a nice breeze in the air, and seriously, Starved Rock is so beautiful.
We went early in the morning, which ended up being really lucky because some of the parking lots were flooded, so there was limited parking, and we got one of the last parking spots! We hiked to the Veranda, and had lunch there. Stopping for lunch at Starved Rock is a little tradition that we have when we go now because you get to sit outside on this big deck overlooking the trails. We hiked back to our car, and also had a really fun ride home. Then, we ended our day by going to Menards and picking up a hose for our backyard!
Georgia’s Christening was this past Sunday at Holy Trinity Church. It was the most beautiful ceremony, and Deacon Joe gave the most beautiful blessing for her. She was surrounded by so much love. We all got to sit together in mass before her baptism, and then my parents, Greg’s family, and my brother and sister, Kevin and Olivia, her godparents, all made our way to the Baptismal font. She is so lucky to have them as her spiritual guides, and I loved how the Deacon swirled the water as he blessed it for her. He also asked the saints to pray for her and especially Saint Georgia, which I thought was super sweet.
Also, Georgia got to wear the Christening gown that me and my sister wore, and my mom wore, and all of my aunts wore. My Bebe (grandma) sewed the gown and bonnet, and embroidered it so delicately. It is trimmed with the most beautiful lace, and I was so excited that Georgia got to wear such a special family heirloom. My mom had gotten the gown ready for Georgia’s special day, and she pressed it so beautifully. She also got Georgia dressed for her special day!
After the ceremony, everyone came over to our house for lunch and dessert. We had beef sandwiches, baked mostaccioli, and pasta salad. We also had yummy cake, sugar cookie, and my mom’s Oreo cake! We played with Georgia all day long, and my dad played the cutest/funniest country song, and my mom and sister clapped along, and Georgia absolutely loved it! It was just the best day that we will remember forever.
Happy Wednesday! Today, I thought I would share Georgia’s nursery. Right now, she is still sleeping in her bassinet in our room, and I love having her sleep right next to us! Her nursery, though, is probably my favorite room in the house! It is so cozy and girly, and it just feels so good in there. Greg and I both love to rock her in the rocking chair, and some evenings we spend the night in there cuddling and listening to her sound machine- Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star is our favorite.
Her rocking chair is one of my favorite pieces because all three of us can fit on it! It was Greg’s idea to get a double rocking chair so that we could sit together, and it is the best. Also, my sister painted her bunny paintings that are on her wall, and they make me so happy! They are so cute, and I know that Georgia will always love them, too, because her Auntie Livi made them special for her.
We had so much fun getting her nursery together. We bought her crib and dresser almost as soon as we found out we were having her. We got both of them at Toys R Us, and I was so excited when I found them that I rushed home to get Greg’s truck so that they could load it up for me in because they were closing, and they wouldn’t hold it! I remember running to my car, so excited, calling Greg and telling him that I was getting his truck to buy the nursery furniture, and he was laughing because I sounded like I was in the biggest rush ever, but I was just so excited!
Finally, we love the fluffy rug on her floor. It’s so soft, and perfect for playing on! We found it at Home Goods (our favorite store). Also, picking out her paint was so fun. Finding the perfect shade of pink was a must, and I knew the second I saw this shade of pink that it was the one. Her curtains are also from Home Goods, and Greg spotted them! I was so excited when he pulled them out, and I feel like they are the perfect finishing touch to her room.
Anyway, I can’t wait for all of the stories we get to tell, cuddles we get to have, sweet dreams we get to say, and the good mornings to come in Georgia’s nursery!
I hope you are all having an amazing week!
