All Aboard!
Oh, adventure! It is just one of our absolute favorite things in life! Last Sunday, Greg and I slept in a little bit, went to breakfast, and were just chatting about how we were going to spend our day. We wanted an adventure, but it was kind of chilly, and we only had 24 hours. Then, Greg was like let’s go to Chicago and take the train!
It was the perfect idea because then we could relax on the train and just enjoy each other’s company. Plus, it’s different than driving! I looked up train times, we ate our breakfast quickly, packed our backpack, and rushed to the station. It was so fun looking out the train window and having a snack together. I liked that the view was so different. We even got to see a rock quarry! We arrived at Union Station around 2, and the fresh city air felt amazing when we hit Canal Street. We went on a little walk and decided to go to Nordstrom Rack and do a little shopping. Greg knows how much I LOVE Hunter Boots and found the cutest pair of black ones for me. I changed out of my other ones and shoved them in the backpack so that I could wear them right away!
We ended our night in Chicago by having dinner with my sweet parents. They met us at Southern Cut Barbecue, and it was such a cozy, yummy dinner. I think that barbecue is good for the soul, especially when you share it with those you love! We even had banana creme pie with four spoons!
Our train ride home I just laid my sleepy head on Greg’s shoulder, and we blinked and then we were home!

Saturday Love Thoughts
On Wednesday, our Heart to Heart was on the 5 love languages, but I feel like I have more to say about them! Here is that post if you have not read it yet. The book was seriously so inspiring and just made complete sense when it comes to how we communicate love to our partner and how our partner communicates love to us. I think that most of us can say we do really love the person that we are with, but sometimes they don’t feel our love or we don’t feel the love coming from them. The love languages talk about loving your partner in the way that feels completely right to them, and it just makes so much sense!… Read More »
Heart to Heart | Our Love Language
Recently I finished reading The Five Love Languages. I had heard that it was a really good book, and amazing for couples so I just had to read it! It was an easy read with some great insight. It basically says that we all have a love language, and this love language is the best way that we receive love. … Read More »
Catfishing and Picnic Date Night
http://https://youtu.be/qXYvrO_YOxU
We went out catfishing on the Vermillion River where we live. We backed Greg’s truck up and sat on the tailgate. We had a little picnic and quite a few bites! It was such a good date night and perfect weather:)
Life Update & Hunting Excitement
We are finally all settled into the our new house, and I am so relieved! For whatever reason moving this time felt like it took longer and was harder. I think it might’ve been because we had actual furniture to move. Before this last house Greg and I had lived in places that came with furniture so moving big heavy stuff was never a thing. Also, when we bought our furniture last year we had it all delivered and set up for us, but this time we had to pack it into a U-Haul and get it into the new place. We got pretty sweaty doing that, but it looks so nice now and totally feels like home!… Read More »
