I have been wanting to go skiing for a really long time, and I thought that we would have to go to Wisconsin to get to ski, but then I found this place called Villa Olivia right by my parent’s house. I called right away, and I found out they did group ski lessons and everything. So, this weekend, me, Greg, Kevin, Olivia, Rob, Anneli, and Frank (my brother’s friend) all hit the slopes! My mom and dad also came with to watch and play with Georgia while we skied.
It was the funniest and funnest day ever! Seriously, I think it was the most fun I had doing something since Greg and I played volleyball on the beach in Mexico on our honeymoon. Rob and Anneli (my cousin and his cute fiancé) were really good at skiing! They could do all the turns and stops right away. Greg was also good, and I think it was because he just has no fear when it comes to that kind of stuff. Kevin and Frank also did a good job, except for the one time Kevin dropped his pole on the slope and couldn’t pick it up lol! Olivia was the funniest of all time on the skis. She brought so much joy to the day! Our ski instructor, Don, loved her! He gave her some private lessons and everything! She also made him laugh so hard he had to stop the lesson, and he kept saying how he didn’t want the lesson to end because he was having so much fun.
After our lesson, everyone decided to try the ski lift and go down the biggest hill. I was really scared, but I went down 2 times without a wipeout (I did hold my breath the whole time though). Oh yea, and getting off the ski lift is another skill you have to master. Me and Livi fell together the first time we tried to get off of it, and Kevin forgot to get off his first time, and they had to back it up. I was very impressed with how well everyone did going down the big hill. They were all doing some of the jumps and going really fast!!
Then, the fall happened. Liv went down the big hill, and she totally wiped out. Luckily, Anneli was right behind her, and came to her rescue. I also was behind them, and I tried to stop, too, but then, I also fell in the mud. We hopped right back up though, and we were just covered in mud!
After that, we were pretty much done. We went back by Georgia and my parents, and we turned in our ski stuff. My mom told me how Georgia loved exploring the ski lodge, and that they were playing outside with the leaves, and my mom was picking up little leaves in her hand and blowing them into the air, and Georgia loved it so much! They also played giddy up horsey and took a ride in the stroller!
It was the best day ever, and afterwards we all went to Morrettis for pizza. Skiing also really works up an appetite, and I liked how the next day it felt like I did a really tough workout! I cannot wait to go again, and next year I want to go skiing as soon as it gets cold out so that we can do it all winter!
