Hi everyone! Welcome to another vlog! We went to Gail’s Pumpkin Patch here in Central Illinois, and it was Georgia’s first time visiting a pumpkin patch! XOXO, Hope you enjoy!
The Farm 2019
This past weekend we went to the Graf Farm! Olivia came over the night before so that Georgia, and I could drive with her, and Greg came up after work. On our drive, Olivia and I were singing “Not Ready to Make Nice” by the Dixie Chicks, “Picture” by Kid Rock and Shania Twain, and lots of Taylor Swift. We were belting it out like we were performing on stage lol.
Once we got to the farm, we had so much fun spending time with family. It was the perfect day for apple picking, a bonfire, and ATV rides! Being on the farm this past weekend brought back all of the fun memories of being a little kid- running around, getting dirty, and taking countless rides on the four wheeler to the woods. It was Greg’s first time going, and he loved it, too.
We spent all day outside, and the weather was absolutely perfect. It was sunny with a slightly cool breeze- the kind of weather fall dreams are made of. Everyone joined together to pick apples/ shake them from the trees, and then we sat around the fire chatting, laughing, and having the best time.
After all the fun outside, we had dinner together. My Auntie Mar made ham, au gratin potatoes, and this really good spinach and cheese frittata. The frittata was absolutely delicious, and I wish I could have some right now! My mom also made Italian sausage, and Greg loves that! For dessert, I ate wayyy too many of my Auntie Kath’s famous sugar cookies! We did not want the day to end, and we’re so grateful for all of the new memories made!

Deer Hunt Turned Turkey Sighting
Gosh, it has been such a warm fall, and I am absolutely loving it! I always get so chilly when we go out hunting, especially my toes, but these sunny days in the 60’s and 70’s have been heaven! This past weekend Greg and I took a break from duck hunting, spent some time in the woods, and we were hoping to see some deer. We grabbed our bows, sprayed down with sent away, and we were ready to go!
Greg is super adventurous when it comes to the woods. He grew up in the woods so he’s very comfortable walking deep into the forest to find the perfect spot. This always make me a little nervous, but in the daylight I can always keep up, and I always end up really enjoying the walk, nature, and little animals we get to see.
We did not see any deer, but I have to say this was one of my favorite hunt outings. As sunset was approaching, all of a sudden, I heard this really loud flapping noise. The hunting spot that we had chosen was a turkey roost. They were flying home before sunset (turkeys live in trees), and they were all around us. It was so exciting and fascinating.
Because we watched the turkeys as the sun was setting, we ended up walking out of the woods in the dark. Greg gave me the only flashlight, but I was still really kinda scared. We were like 2 miles into the woods, which I think is why we got to see so many turkeys, but as we were walking out I was convinced that we were lost. We were walking in water and had to walk up this really steep hill, and so our little hunt ended with me in tears. Greg knew exactly how to get back even in the dark without a light, and the absolute cutest part was that he kept turning around and giving me little kissies and encouragement even when I was telling him I was never hunting again! lol
Luckily that did not last long. We made it back to the truck, and we were already planning our duck hunt for this Sunday! It’s supposed to be 27 degrees, but luckily I have this new electric hand warmer that I can’t wait to test out! Also, Greg is super excited for the cold weather… the birds should be flying!!
Fall Beauty at Starved Rock
Here is our little trip to Starved Rock State Park and definitely one of my favorite dates! Greg had been wanting to take me to Starved Rock for a while, but last year we missed the fall time when all the leaves are so pretty, but this year we made it at the perfect time. The leaves were so colorful, and the weather was sunny, warm, and crisp!
We hiked the different trails for two hours. All of the different trails have really cute names like Lover’s Leap (the cutest one)! My favorite part was playing by the waterfall, walking across fallen logs, and holding Greg’s hand on our walk! It was so nice to be together. I never want our Sundays to end!
Before we headed home we a sunset dinner of cheeseburgers looking over the state park. This was Greg’s favorite part. 🙂 It was a really busy day at Starved Rock; I think because of how perfect the weather was. We did have to wait a little to have our sunset dinner, but we filled our time reading about the history of Starved Rock and sharing some kisses.
We also really want to go back in the winter time after a snowfall.
Wedding Bells
We traded in our camo this weekend for some fancy gold! Greg and I had the most wonderful weekend at one of our friend’s weddings. We stayed in a hotel, danced all night, and of course enjoyed some yummy wedding cake! We could totally feel the love in the air throughout the entire night. I just love love so much, and it was so beautiful to be able to be a part of such a fun, magical night. My favorite part was when we all went outside and lit sparklers and the bride and groom walked through our sparkle tunnel! Also, the bride and groom are such sweethearts, and they looked amazing and were just so welcoming. Their wedding also made us so excited to really get started planning ours! We’re actually going to go check out our venue this weekend (I have butterflies). We will keep you all updated on all of our planning. Anyway, I wanted to write a top five from our weekend, so here it is!
5. Our late check out at our hotel because we got to cuddle for extra long on Sunday morning! Also Greg had on the softest t-shirt (perfect for cuddling)
4. The beautiful weather, warm and crisp, the perfect combination
3. Getting all dressed up with my handsome man
2. Our trip to Starved Rock! I will post the pictures from that trip later this week 🙂
1. Dancing all night with Greg! Dancing with my soulmate makes my heart happy.

Early Teal and Goose Hunt
First official blog post! Greg and I have been hunting/fishing/adventuring for 3 years together now, and it has been such a big part of our relationship! I honestly feel like each time we get to spend a day in the outdoors together it brings us so much closer. We totally reconnect in our little private escape as we discover and explore together. So, we wanted a place where we could share one of our biggest passions and hobbies with you all.
This past Sunday we hunted early goose and teal. I love early season. It’s still warm; this is great for me because I love being warm! It also gave us the chance to work some kinks out before we’re hunting in what I think feels like arctic temps! We were able to get our blind set up, but it definitely still needs some work. It’s crazy how heavy grass and straw is! We were also able to get our boat in the water effectively. Getting the decoys in was another project. Greg was ready to strip down and swim around because the spot that we were in was too deep! We did get all set up, though, just in time for shooting!
Overall, it was a really great hunt for early season. We got 2 geese and a teal! Also, any day we get to spend on the water together is a great day! 🙂
