Our first wedding anniversary was this past Sunday. We stayed at the Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca, IL, and it was amazing! The resort is beautiful, and is located on an amazing golf course. Our original plan was to stay the night and then golf in the morning, but it rained so we weren’t able to do that, but that was ok because we enjoyed the other parts of the resort sooo much!
When we got to the resort on Saturday night, we checked in, and grabbed a snack at the little market in the hotel. We ate popcorn in bed and each had one of those yummy Izzy Sparkling Juices while watching a cowboy movie. Then, I got ready for dinner, which is always one of my favorite parts about staying in a hotel! We had dinner in the restaurant right downstairs from our hotel room, and then went to Dave & Buster’s!
At Dave & Buster’s we played sooo many games! Greg was so good at this game where you had to throw a ball into milk jugs, and he won soo many tickets because he could always getting into the highest scoring milk jug! I also loved the game where you knock down the clowns with a ball because you have to throw the ball really hard, and I thought that was really funny! Also, I beat Greg at the motorcycle racing game, and I was so proud of myself because usually I cannot steer in those games, but I figured out a little trick to win! We ended our night by picking out two coffee cups and two yo-yos as our prizes, and it was just the best!!!
The next morning we had breakfast at Burnham Restaurant (this is the fancy Eaglewood breakfast buffet). We had hash browns, toast, bacon, and Greg had an omelette, too! We shopped afterwards, spent some time fishing, and ended the night by meeting my parents for dinner and ice cream and spending the night at their house because we just did not want our weekend to end!
It was the absolute best way to spend our first anniversary, and I cannot believe that we have already been married for a year. It has been the best year, and I just feel so lucky to get to spend every day with my best friend and soulmate. I just absolutely love doing life with him!
