We stayed in Geneva, IL with my parents this weekend to celebrate my dad’s birthday. On our drive up there, Greg and I stopped at Bass Pro because they had the exact duck call that he had been eyeing for a while. He was so happy getting to try it out in the car, and it was the cutest!
Greg and I love Geneva, and my mom booked hotel rooms for all of us and made reservations at the yummiest restaurant called Fox Fire. If you are ever in the area, you have to check it out! They had the best chicken marsala there, but I was not feeling that good so I only ate a little of mine. Greg had their chicken alfredo, and his noodles were homemade! He made everyone try them because they were so good! It kind of made me want to get one of those homemade noodle makers. After dinner, we all stayed up late chatting, and my mom and Greg got to feel the baby kick! Her little legs are getting so strong, and I am so happy that other people can feel her now, too. It is just the sweetest feeling ever.
Then, on Sunday, we had lunch, and my brother came for lunch and to play golf with all of us. We played darts in the restaurant, and it was so much fun! I accidentally hit the bulls eyes, though, when I was pulling the darts out, and it registered because it was an electronic dart board lol. After lunch we planned to play 18 holes- we only made it through 9 because it was so hot! We were all way too sweaty! We all cooled off back at the hotel, and I took a final for my class. I wanted to take it there because we were not ready to go home, and it meant that we got to go have dinner one last time with my parents before we hit the road.I am so happy we stayed longer because we got to feed the ducks at dinner! The restaurant we went to was called the Claddagh Irish Pub. We picked it because it had outdoor seating by a little pond, and there were the cutest duckies swimming around. We all fed them some tomato, and they were so happy and racing to eat it as fast as they could!
It was such a good weekend, and I cannot wait for the 3 day weekend coming up!
