We jumped right into home improvements. Our second night in the house, Greg and I changed all of the handles on our cabinets and Greg installed our new fridge! Our cabinets had brown handles, and we just didn’t really like them. We ordered these pretty crystal ones off of Amazon, and we bought these delicate silver handles for the drawers. As soon as they were put on, our kitchen immediately looked prettier! For the fridge, Greg actually had to cut on our cabinets in half for it to fit. Our home was built in 1944 and everything was a little smaller then, but Greg did such a good job measuring and cutting, and he got the fridge in no problem! He also ran a water line it because it has an ice and water dispenser, which we absolutely love!
Last weekend, my parents came down to help us paint, too. My dad brought down all of his painting supplies, which was so nice, and Greg and my dad spent all of Sunday painting our living room and bedroom. They did such a beautiful job. Greg is the one who found the color for our walls at Menards. We wanted something whitish with a blue undertone, and I think the color just totally transformed the house. It feels more airy and open! While they painted, my mom and I went and bought a new shower rod (it matches the cabinet handles) and a bunch of other stuff for the house! We also bought this pink, fuzzy rug, but Greg is not totally sold on it yet lol.
Greg also installed our new stove, and I baked chocolate chip cookies in it this week! It is so pretty, and oh my gosh, having a gas stove is a total game changer. I also made spaghetti with meat sauce on the stove top this week, and it cooked so much more evenly, and I kept telling Greg that this was the best spaghetti I had ever made.
We got to pick up our new furniture on Friday, too, and I love how it looks in our freshly painted front room!
Happy Sunday! We’re off to play a round of golf today!
