I hope you all had a great 4th of July and got to watch pretty fireworks, dress in red, white, and blue, and spend some great time with the ones you love! Greg and I went up to Chicago on the 4th. We originally planned to watch the little bike parade by my grandparents house, but we got stopped by a 4th of July 5K in Bloomington and could not get on the highway in time to make it.
So Greg and I only made it out one more time to really bass fish in June. The final score was 12 to 7, and Greg won! Here is a little video from earlier this week. We wanted to get out and bass fish, but Greg had to stay late at work, so here is a video of what our nights usually look like during the week! Thanks so much for watching and reading. 🙂 Also, I hope you all had the best 4th of July. We’re off to our honeymoon in just a few hours!
Because Greg and I spend so much time outside it is extra important that we take care of ourselves. During the summer we spend even more time outside than we do in the winter and because of this some of the beauty/ self care products need to be amped up. Here are some of the products we are currently using to say fresh, clean, happy, and protected from the sun. 🙂
Just a little picture from my Instagram Story 🙂
My brother’s friends: Frank (blue and pink checkers) & Zach (pink shirt)- they were so fun at the rehearsal dinner and wedding!
Ok, so we have been married for a little over a week! These pictures are from our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The day before the wedding was totally crazy, fun, and loaded with excitement. We didn’t get to take very many pictures because we were so wrapped up in getting ready for the wedding, but luckily my brother, Kevin, grabbed the camera and snapped a few before the night was over.
Hi everyone! I hope you all had an amazing Memorial Day Weekend and got to relax and spend some time outdoors with the ones you love! It was so so beautiful out- like perfect temperature, sunny, and there was even a little breeze. Greg and I could not wait to just be outside all weekend.
We made our first vlog! We went out fishing at Lake Evergreen this past weekend and took our GoPro for a test drive. We’re just starting to play around with the filming and editing, but we were both thrilled that we caught a bass on video. So cool! Also, I love that I am doing my make up in the truck while Greg talks about his lures. It makes me laugh every time I see it. I had taken a little nap before we went out and needed a little touch up 😉
Greg and I do a ton of activities together! We honestly just love to play and be together, and having all of these activities that we can do together brings us closer and makes our relationship what it is. We constantly want to add new activities, too, and then we are like oh my gosh our garage is going to be so full with toys (I can’t imagine what it will be like when we have kids lol)! Between the kayaks, hunting equipment, fishing poles, golf clubs, and camping stuff we have a lot of stuff to play with, and we are always trying to squeeze just one more thing in!
Anyway, we got our first round of golf in for the season, and it was ahhmazing! Perfect day and we actually had a pretty good round. Greg’s drives were totally on, and I think I’m finally getting the hang of using my wedge. Greg was giving me some one on one coaching on the course that totally helped. He would show me exactly what to do and then I would copy his moves, and my hits would be way better. We also played best ball so his drives and my puts helped us get a pretty good score- our teamwork was on!
I also think golf is the perfect activity for a couple to start together. I love it because you get to be out in the sun, wear cute, preppy outfits, it’s sporty, and I am obsessed with pink golf balls! It’s also relaxing because you can take it slow or fast depending on your mood, and the golf course is such a great place to connect with each other- I think it’s a little oasis of peace!
Having a hobby you can share totally brings you closer. You get to spend time together, get competitive, and work towards new goals together. My current golfing goal is being able to drive the ball further because I want to be able to get over the water hazards, and Greg wants his drive to be super straight.
After a weekend full of fun together Greg and I miss each other more than ever when we have to go to work! We’re always texting each other like “I can’t wait to see you again” or “only 4 more hours until we get to eat dinner together :).”
Hope you’re all having an amazing Saturday night! We went to Noodles for dinner and are currently watching some Netflix!
This is our trip to North Carolina back in May! Greg and I needed a relaxing vacation right after I graduated, and this one was spontaneous and exactly what we needed. We went to North Carolina with our kayaks on top of our Ford Escape, and it was a twisty ride in those mountains with those on top of our car lol!
It was the first time I had ever seen the Smoky Mountains (or any mountains), and it was so beautiful, green, and different than anything I had ever experienced. We stayed in this nautical themed cabin that was just too cute for words! I honestly wished we could have taken the cabin home with us! We relaxed in the hot tub at night, fished and kayaked all day, took a bike ride, and even got in a round of mini golf (I think we tied ;). Lake Lure was the perfectly hidden vacation spot.
