Hi everyone! Welcome to another vlog! We went to Gail’s Pumpkin Patch here in Central Illinois, and it was Georgia’s first time visiting a pumpkin patch! XOXO, Hope you enjoy!
Gail’s Pumpkin Patch | 3 Little Pumpkins
I love that this has been a year of firsts- Georgia’s first Valentine’s Day, Fourth of July, summer vacation, and now her first trip to the pumpkin patch! It makes everything more exciting and magical. On our way to the pumpkin patch last year, all we did was talk about baby Georgia and how much fun it would be to have her with us next year! This was the time when having her in our arms was feeling so close, and now, she is pulling up to stand, laughing and giggling, has the BEST personality, and is the light of our lives.
We had the happiest day at the pumpkin patch, today. We got there just as it opened, and we picked out 3 perfect pumpkins. Georgia loved being outside in the fresh, fall air, and we just could not stop smiling! We ate yummy cinnamon rolls on the way home, and Georgia took a nap in the truck. We also decorated our front porch for fall and Halloween with our pumpkins, a hay bale, and mums. We actually went 3 different places for the mums. Gail’s Pumpkin Patch had them, but we thought they would get too windblown in the truck. Then, we went to the first Jewel, and they only had not so nice ones left. Next, we tried a gardening shop, but they were so overpriced! Finally, we went to the second Jewel, and they had 3 good ones left, so we bought them!
I always want to remember how cute Georgia looked in her pumpkin outfit and how perfectly she fit in our arms and how Greg and I were buckling her into the stroller together each putting one of her arms through the loops. I could relive this day over and over!
I think this is my favorite time of year!
P.S. We also vlogged today, too, so there will be a new YouTube video up this week!
Here our our pumpkin patch trips from previous years: Last year and 2017
The Third Annual Heller Cup
The Third Annual Heller Cup took place this past Sunday. This is the golf tournament between the two Heller dealerships- Heller Motors (where Greg works) and Heller Ford. For the past two years, I was the scorekeeper and photographer. This year, Georgia, and I went out to take photos at the end of the day, and John Warren and Dan Wickman took over as the scorekeepers.
Luckily, John was able to give me the low down on how the day went. He said that the Heller Motors had a very consistent day of golf. This is what enabled them to take the lead early on. After 18 holes, they were ahead, but the competition was still fierce. Heller Ford regrouped, and they played strong for the last 9 holes. Heller Motors, kept their lead, though, and ended up winning for the third year in a row by 57.5 to 50.
From the Heller Motors side, Nate Tissiere was awarded MVP. Also, Justin Gillard had an amazing shot out of the sand. He hit the ball 250 yards out of the bunker and made it just to the edge of the green! Overall, it was a great day of golf with great weather, and Georgia and I were so happy to see all of the golfers and especially Greg at the end of the day!
Congratulations to all of the guys at Heller Motors on their third consecutive Heller Cup Championship!
Our First Family Fishing Trip!
We have been taking full advantage of the nicer weather! On Wednesday, Georgia and I were able to take a nice, long walk around our neighborhood. We both loved it, and we got to meet one of our neighbors! Then, yesterday, on Greg’s day off, we got to take our first family fishing trip.
We went and got coffee first, and the sky was a little bit cloudy. We decided to drive around a little bit. We love driving out by Lake Evergreen because it is just so pretty! There’s fields and forest and so much sparkly water. On our drive, it started completely down pouring, but we still wanted to go fishing! We decided to drive around a little more, and talk. We love going for drives, and Greg and I always have the best talks during them! Then, the rain cleared, and we were sooo happy! Also, as soon as it cleared we saw a family of deer. They were just on the outskirts of the woods, and they looked so happy and peaceful.
Then, we finally got to fish- well Greg did. Georgia and I sat on the dock in the sunshine, and Greg got to try out some of his new baits. He didn’t catch anything, though, and it was probably because the water is still so cold. There was still ice cubes floating in it! We stayed out on the water for two hours, and it was just the best! The fresh air, the sunshine, and being together made us all so happy.
We ended our outing with a little lunch date! I cannot wait for more of these days!

Illinois Hunting Guides Coming Soon!
So the mission of this new section to our blog is to help our fellow hunters find information on public opportunities for hunting.
I have been hunting in Illinois my whole life and can tell you that our state laws and our IDNR (Illinois Department of Natural Resources) website is not always user friendly. I have spent countless hours researching, reading blogs, forums, and other random articles to find more information on hunting areas.
I really think there is a lack of information out there on public land hunting for a few reasons:
1. People just don’t want to give up “their hunting spot”.
2. Information on hunting land and areas is mainly spread by word of mouth and by knowing people in the hunting community.
3. Finding time to go scout these areas is difficult in today’s busy world.
So, as for this section of the blog, I am going to give you my take on how I handle duck season in Illinois. Hunting public land in Illinois is difficult at best. Every area brings new challenges including; boats, long walks, and drawings. I am going to try to provide you with more detailed and specific information. I will be sharing open to the public hunting areas and spots, posting maps, sharing tips and tricks specific to these areas, and giving reviews on public hunting land all throughout Illinois.
Overall, I do have some private ground that I am able to fill in some of my hunting with (I can share tips on how to secure private land, as well, if you all are interested), but I mainly hunt public land and sharing whatever I can with you all.

How Many Baits Does it Take to Catch a Fish?
http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RvRSCNxLOY&feature=youtu.be
Here is a glimpse into our last weekend before we got married!! We went out for an evening fish after a great day spent at the pool with our friends, Michelle and Pat. Greg and I decided to try all of our baits, and it was just such a beautiful night that we didn’t want to leave. Also, sorry that this post is a little bit late. We just wanted to fully enjoy getting ready for the wedding, and I will be posting more on our dream day soon! Thanks for reading and watching 🙂
